No refund of medical expenses incurred in hospital

Last year during September i was hospitalised at Polokwane Medi-clinic and had to do some medical procedure at Drs Buisson, kramer, swart, Bouwer, Inc. Few months after my discharge i received claim letter from the Drs Buisson, kramer, swart, Bouwer, Inc demanding payment because the Bonitas medical aid did not cover some of the money owed due to some sections they stipulated in their letter. Being concerned and responsible i paid the medical bill myself and thought i will later claim my refund during my tax returns. when i called the medical aid today to ask the procedure of claiming the refund and spoke to one of the consultant called Kgomotso Mehlape she dismissed me saying the scheme won't refund me because i did not claim within four months. i clearly mentioned to her that the four months period was never communicated to me and i had no clue at all hence i'm calling now but she did not assist in anyway and dismissed me as if i was not a client of four years with the Bonitas medical fund. My stress is i am not a medical aid agent how do you expect me to know about the four months period? i am really disappointed and feel as if i am with a wrong medical fund because of this.
