Uy a Telefunken TV and it lasts for 1 year???

When I returned from Honeymoon I purchased a Telefunken television from House & Home Fourways Mall on... 19 February 2013. This was with the money I received for my wedding from our guests

Approximately 3 weeks ago whilst watching the TV it automatically switched off for no reason. I returned it to House & Home Eastgate. I was subsequently informed that I would be responsible for the repair of the TV as it just fell outside of the one year warranty period. (1 month out of warranty I might add)

Does Telefunken make TV's only to last for one year. I can understand if it were 2 or 3 years outside of the warranty but it has been only 1 month out of warranty. This only shows extremely poor workmanship on the appliance. I'm disappointment.

This is the first time I have ever had a problem with a TV. This not supposed to happen?

I got a quote from House and Home and they tell me it will cost over R5000 to fix??? This is absolutely ridiculous!!!

Is this satisfactory with Telefunken???
