Cheap Dstv decoders that ends up expensive

To all those who are excited over those discounted Dstv decoders offered by big retailers and are planning to buy them, think quadriple times if you think you are going to save money because you might end up paying more. Im about to.

I bought a decoder at House & Home in eastgate shopping in mid-february and inside the decoder there is a Samsat voucher with a customer-care number you must call to schedule an appointment with an installer of their choice (They supply you with an installer of their choice since you dont pay a cent). What happened next was stuff inspired by comedy

-The installer (who was suppose to call me back to arrange appointment) decided to show up at my house before calling and had to turn back because there was no one at home.

-Same installer didnt pitch at the agreed date despite calling to remind her of our appointment the following day.

-Ignored all my calls and sms's same day of appointment.

-Managed to get another Samsat-installer who showed up the following day but also disappeared after i informed him of problems with satellite connection.

Now i have no choice but to pay yet another installer out of my own pocket. bless Samsat
