EXPIRY DATE NOT ON VOUCHER and BAD SERVICE

I received a post card for my birthday (30 November) saying that I have a free screening. Due to The Ear Institute sending it to the wrong postal address, I only received it in January. I was under much pressure from my company as I was serving my articles and it was my final month. My wife called in to The Ear Institute to make an appointment on my behalf in February, and stated that I have a free screening. I was asked when was my birthday and the appointment was made without any complains.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived for my screening, when the receptionist said I had to pay for it. I mentioned that its free n showed her the card. She was very rude and said its expired. Being very confused as the card did not have an expiry date I asked her to explain. She told me that its only valid for 3 months and it expired at the end of January.
I'm really disappointed in the service. Reasons being, the card did not have an expiry date, my birthday was at the end of Nov so the month of Nov should not be counted, and that it is the fault of Ear institute that I received the card late, and also travelling from the Overport area all the way to Umhlanga was a total waste.
