Over three months to supply spare part

In mid-November 2012 we reported a malfunction of our AEG Favorit 50700 dishwasher. Lynnwood Domestic Services informed us that the door handle and door hatch had failed and on 20 November ordered these parts from AEG. Apparently, on 21 December one of the parts was received by AEG. On contacting AEG, we were told that orders had closed until after the new year. We therefore spent the festive season without a dishwasher.

After repeated enquiries in January, nothing was received from AEG ; on 13 February, AEG informed us when we called them that the missing part "had been cleared and would be delivered to LDS". AEG claimed that the part had been "unavailable in Germany". To date, nothing has been received by LDS.

This is disgraceful ; as a multinational, AEG's indifference to customer service and general disorganisation are unacceptable. The total lack of communication is inexplicable.
