Dishonest for sales

Electronics and household app.

Last year November i bought my sony 11inch y series green netbook. December due to a silly error on my part i broke the screen. I had bought my first one at canal walk and found the service to be very good.
as waterfront is closer i took my broken vaio to the cony center there. i was told it would be more costy to fix it then to buy another. i was also told i could easily sell my broken one and the sales guy led me to believe it would be easy to sell to someone who had another screen and would just use it without the screen. he said he might know someone thus in my mind i could buy a new one and not have to repeat the full purchase as i would be making my money back.
I was badly advised regarding the purchase as i did find a company apparently well known (it solutions) to fix my old netbook at a much smaller cost then repurchasing one. (R1.7k) i am aware the consultant advised me based on fixing with sony but he offered no other alternative nor did he say their might be one. i panicked as i need a netbook for work and ended up purchasing another which was used 3 times while my old one was getting fixed. it now sits in its box devaluing every day.
i feel i was badly advised
