Smart tv/blue ray notvso smart

I tried to install apps from my new smart blu ray player and tv set. At first everything worked fine. An hour or two later it started giving me a error model bind problem. I googled the error and discovered that this is a world wide problem with the samsung servers. The call centre tells me to take my tv and blu ray to their service centre. I cannot see what the tv has to do with the problem as it is not a smart tv! Cant see what the blu ray has to do with faulty samsung servers. Wish I knew of this before buying samsung...
