I purchased a Sony amplifier for R4700 about 1 year and 3 months ago. The amp needs repairing to the amount of R1700. The warranty was 1 year. After running around for months trying to get this sorted out with Sony, they have offered to pay R350 for the labour and I need to wait another 3 weeks for the part from Dubai.
I have been without my amp since the beginning of 2013. I have been back and forth to Rectron (The servicing agents) who initially couldn't pick up the problem. I had to go to Tafelberg furnishes to find proof of purchase. And I've struggled to get feedback from Sony and have had to constantly email them. Now, after I've expressed my anger at their weak offer and terrible after sales service they've instructed me to hang-on and they are going to see what they can do. I still have had no feedback and really just want my amp to be repaired and returned to me!!
I purchased Sony because I believed it to be a good quality brand which would serve me well. I will never purchase Sony again! Their service people told me that problems are so rare with their products. If they are so rare then surely they would make provisions for theses 'rare' circumstances...
