Education & Science

I enrolled for a BSC with Unisa, registered study units: DSC1510, DSC1630 and STA1501. Was later told that I can't be registered for STA1501 as I'm limited to only 24 credits per semester, reason being that I have been put on a Science foundation program (established this only when I went to their Sunnyside campus to enquire). This decision to place me on the foundation is apparently based on an M-Score, but no one could tell me how many points I needed to make the cut for the mainstream (Prospective students do not have transparency to this M-Score calculation). On my second visit to the campus regarding this same issue a lady from the front desk assisted and promised to submit an appeal with the Science department based in Florida on my behalf. She asked me to fill a subject-addition form so she could register the study unit should the outcome of the appeal be positive, asked me to email her an academic record of my National Diploma to use to motivate on the appeal. Three weeks later still no response or acknowledgement of receiving my appeal. This lack of correspondence has now effectively ruined all my study plans as I do not know if the restriction will be lifted or not.
