INCONSISTENT ACCOUNT BALANCE

Education & Science

I recently made an enquiry about the balance of my account and I was shown that the outstanding amount was R180.00. I did this because I wanted to apply for an aegrotat exam for a module that I had not managed to write this semester, which was ECS 1601.

I paid the R180 for the outstanding fees and subsequently paid another R180 for the Aegrotat exam as is the requirement. I have already been given a date to write the said exam in 2014.

Now when I log into the system to enquire about my exam results I get a " outstanding fees" message. My understanding is that if there were any outstanding fees, I would never had successfully applied for an aegrotat exam. The fact that I have even been given a date to write the postponed exam tells me that there were no outstanding fees either than the R180.

I have recently received an email that says that my balance is now R740 . now i am confused as to how it could have jumped from R180 to that amount; also, if that was the case how was I able to successfully apply for an aegrotat exam if there were outstanding fees either than the R180 that i was initially told about.

Can someone please do their job and sort out this unnecessary mess?
