Misrepresentation of warranties and bad attitude

I purchased a Sun Command automatic pool cleaner. We have just redone our pool, that being the reason for purchasing a new cleaner. Our previous one lasted many years and was in fact still in working order. This one has lasted 21 days and upon returning it to the store we are told to contact the supplier so they can get someone to come and have a look.

Mosedi phoned the supplier who said the warranty terms are in the booklet. The only writing on the outside of the box is 2 YEAR WARRANTY in bold red writing. Mosedi gave me Water Linx number and I spoke to Judy in customer care. I was told to take a photo and if the tear in the diaphragm was on a seam it would be a warranty and they would exchange it, otherwise it was probably a twig in the pool that tore it. I, as the consumer am surely entitled to return an inferior product if it is faulty, or am I to replace the diaphragm every time a twig falls into the pool? This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in the 16 years that I have had a swimming pool. I would prefer to purchase a more long lasting cleaner. It is not good for BWH to promote such inferior product and not accept responsibity for sales returns with badattitude
