Beware of Belvedere Trust Retirement homes

If thinking about investing in an Retirement home on the West Rand, I would advise that one re-thinks any investment in any of the Belvedere proporties. Facilities promised never materialised, leading to having to sell the property and move a lady of over 80 from her home.
On selling her Life Rights property, it took a full year to be paid out, and then only after we employed a Lawyer to fight for the money. Because of the delay from Belvedere, the purchase of a new home almost fell through, but was only saved by agreeing to a raised price. A severe blow for someone living on a pension.
When eventually paid, monies paid were paid out in 'instalments', with no explanation and no breakdown of what they covered. Repeated requests for an explanation and breakdown have to this day been ignored.
The lawyer acting on behalf of Belvedere was both rude and unprofessional in the handling of the case. Our situation brought to light many discrepancies and since then many questions have been raised about what the Belevere group were doing with monies entrusted to them. Elderly peoples savings.
The entire business caused both emotional and financial stress.
