Matrix and their poor tactics

I bought an ADSL modem in November 2012, the devise did not last for more than 4 weeks. It devise just shutdown without any warning. They did not want to replace the devise saying "Unit dead due to possible power surge or lightning", they referred to possibility of lightning or power. Which will always remain a possibility? What is the possibility of having this possibility? All of this is based on possibility and I want to recruit anyone who has been in this situation with Matrix to advice anyone to think about this before buying anything at Matrix. Today it's me but tomorrow it might be you... I find it very much unfair when suppliers use probabilities to make decisions that cannot be scientifically proven. I decided to take this up with consumer complain to finally make companies to make decisions from scientific facts not probabilities, we are using our money to buy their products and this is how they thank us.
