Bought a laptop from ACER/PACKARD BELL and during the warranty period, the laptop was sent back 3 times for repairs. Three months after the warranty expired the machine once again gave problems, and when returned for repairs, I was quoted R4000.00 to fix the Machine. Note that the cost price of the machine was R4000.00.
According to ACER the motherboard defaulted, and get this, ACER/PACKARD BELL cannot provide the cause of the default and can also not prove that the default resulted due to my negligence.
So now, I have to pay for a manufacturing defect. How fair is this. Must we, as consumers, be held liable for the poor quality of products manufactured? I do feel that the specifications of my machine is a complete misrepresentation (wrt performance)
I would not recommend ACER/PACKARD BELL to my worst enemy. Take my advice and save yourself lots of disapointment and don't purchase any ACER/PACKARD BELL product. I am talking of experience.
