I got a rental vehicle for one full month from my insurance company. The vehicle was picked up by myself in Pietermaritzburg. A day before I had to give back the vehicle I was in Johannesburg and went to JIA Avis office at 14H25 and enquired if there would be a return fee for taking the vehicle back to JIA and not Pietermaritzburg. The customer consultant, A lady, blonde and friendly, looked at her computer and said that it would cost me R10 off my R750 deposit, from where I took it to be admin fees. Knowing I had a deposit there I did not fill up with fuel. That took a big chunk of my deposit, witch I expected, then came the news. A hectic fee for leaving the vehicle in JHB and the fee was presented to me with a legal action threat. Not like I disputed anything yet. Looks like Avis is used to this threatening ways. I got numerous calls regarding payment at witch I told them to speak to their customer officer as the fault came from there. The calls from Macey was not helpful at all and as usual just a threat again. Avis needs to get their act up to speed with their employees. If a mistake was made by my company by an employee. I would be liable for the account. Look into it
