BP Filling Station Dumps Oil In Stormwater drains

Cars & Transport

I have witnessed staff at the filling-station in Somerset West Main Rd, opposite Waterstone emptying their oil-trap at their car-wash by bucket, and then dumping the contents in the storm-water drains.

I went to call the manager, showed him doing it, he was blaze and said it is no issue, I then referred to the owner, who sent me a message via the manager that it was no issue, and if I am unhapppy about it I can come to his office.

This is illegal, it is immoral, and it is utter disregard for the environment. 1 Liter of oil can contaminate 1000 000 liters of water, and I've watched them pouring 5 or 6 20liter buckets of this stuff down the drain all within a few minutes!

This is totally unacceptable.
