Girls on the move organised our relocation from East London to Johannesburg. Firstly, while loading the truck, they broke a glass door, and dismantled our wooden table. They paid for the damages but how stressful...
Arriving in Johannesburg, it was a whole day of offloading, and we made two mistakes. First, we did not control all the boxes inventory so strictly, and secondly, we had too many lose items, which weren't accounted for (not numbered). Most of these disappeared, including a 6 people tent, most of our camping gear, book boxes and some shelves. How can you lose so much in one truck!
these items were only reported missing weeks after the move, as we actually needed them. The owner replied that insurance would not cover because of the delay, and refuse to pay.
in addition, all the team was complaining a lot about their working conditions, sleeping in the truck like cattle, no health and safety gear (safety shoes, etc...), bad pay, etc...
The attitude was "you cant prove anything, so it's not my issue".
They also hired people from the street to move our piano... I did not know if I was going to cry or laugh...
I would NOT recommend them, we lost thousands of rands to
