Into buying tyres

Brought a car to Minty's to have wheel balancing and alignment done. Were called to say that the tyres had severe cracks and could burst, and would need replacing before they would be able to do wheel alignment. On collecting the car we were told that the wheel studs were damaged - this despite Mintys being the only company to have ever done any work on the wheels of that car. They argued that a car which drove 4000km in 12 months all in quiet suburban roads needed tyres replaced. Replaced the tyres but kept out old ones (Minty's would not even sign to confirm they were even our tyres). Went to a second tyre dealer for a second opinion - not only were the old tyres ok, but the new ones Minty's had sold to us were the incorrect size and hence were grinding against the body work, causing clutch and engine damage. They also reckon that Mintys were responsible for damage to the studs. Mintys replaced the tyres with our old ones as requested, but only refunded the tyre price (R500 short of the total price paid). This after considerable argument with them, and them blatantly lying about having been asked to install larger (incompatible) tyres. service and no accountability.
