BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND GWM KEEPS 'FIXING' IT

My father purchased a brand new GWM 4x4 and with it being 1 year old one would expect that the mechanics of the vehicle would be in pristine condition. The vehicle has blown up on numerous occassions. It has gotten to the point that my father has asked for a new vehicle to replace the 'dud' that he seems to own to whic GWM replied: The only alternative is to trade the vehicle in for a new one?? Really? So one must get into even more financial debt. Does anyone have an advice on how to approach this and what our rights as consumers (if any) are?
