My car was serviced at Suzuki Centurion, c/o of Hendrik Verwoerd and Old Jhb Road on Tues 29 Oct. I forgot my Canon Camera in the back of the car. It was. I reported the incident to the sales manager, Peter Niklas, on Thurs 31 Oct. who told me that I have no proof of the camera being in the car. When I left the premises, he stopped me at the gate and informed me that since I have never signed the disclaimer which advises that I am aware of the fact that valuables left in the car are my own responsibility, they will reimburse me for the camera and that I should get a quote. A quote was submitted on Monday 4 Nov. My e-mails were ignored except for one stating that he is very busy. On Thurs 14 Nov. I went back the the dealership. Peter was on a seminar and I spoke to Warren Gerber, Peter's superior. He promised to get involved with the case right away. On Mon 18 Nov, I received an e-mail from Peter informing me that the director refuses to pay for the camera, as I do not have proof of the camera being in the car. I believe a verbal agreement is as binding as a written one and they knew I had no proof of the camera being in the car when they offered to reimburse me.
