Considering the Hyundai i30? Think again!

Cars & Transport

I recently purchased the Hyundai i30 as I thought that I was getting far more value for what I was paying. I quickly discovered that the radio car does not have the most basic RDS feature which means that the radio only displays the frequency. You will never know what radio station you are on, nor will it automatically adjust as you drive from one area to the other. They knew that I was in Sales and constantly on the road, so it was implied that this feature was an essential. I am now constantly track seeking radio stations as I drive, to get rid of the very annoying distorted sounds. The 2008 car that I was driving even had RDS so how can a new car not have this function? I would never have bought the car had I known that it did not have RDS and VW were still hot on my heels for a sale. I escalated the issue to the National Complaints Manager, only to hear that there is nothing that they can do and that they waive all responsibility as they are "only the importer". I am stuck with a radio for the next 5 years that doesn't function optimally. I am so disappointed and I feel that I was misled as a consumer by omission of information. You get what you pay for!
