Confusing Billing Structure

My boss was in JHB / Pretoria last week and he hired a vehicle from Tempest Car Hire.

The car was rented and used for the Wednesday and Thursday, it was then brought back on the Friday at 10h45. For returning the vehicle at 10h45 we were billed for AN ENTIRE day.

Now I realise it stipulates in your T/C's that you work on a 24 hour structure but honestly to be billed for an entire day when the vehicle was probably only used for an hour or two.

What happens in the event of unforeseen circumstances on the road which cause you to be late? How can one plan these sorts of things? And then to add insult to injury we must cough up out of our wallet for it.

Again, I am aware of your T/C's but I honestly think it is abit ridiculous and perhaps a billing structure of pro rata can be adopted.

I would have been happy to settle for 2.50 days even.
