I hired a car from Tempest on the 15th of July and the car that I was given was 33000KM and the last service was 19158KM. That means i was given a car that was due for service and never went and as a results I got stuck in the middle of the road from around 1AM because of the clutch that was damaged and when I tried calling the number on the windscreen for help couldn't get through. Had to sleep in the middle of the road until the following day when i finally got hold of someone at Tempest and another car was delivered to me. When I returned the car at the Pretoria branch I explained what I went through to the manager and he is insisted that the car did go for service at around 28000KM even though I saw the service book and even took pictures of it as proof. Well few days I got my deposit back and was willing to forget everything but now I am getting messages from them saying I owe R2340 for the clutch plate. I dont understand why I should pay this amount, had the gone in for service I would understand, after all I went through me having to sleep in the middle of the road because of the car, now I also have to pop out R2340. Please make me understand why I should be made to pay.
