All BMW S1000RR owners BEWARE!!!

Consider this, a new S1000 purchased, maintained impeccably and then a broken conrod causes the motor to seize resulting in a near fatal crash. My bike had 4000km on, been serviced by Motorrad, still in warranty and during a track school session, on the second lap, seizes the motor. Speculation is that a factory fault associated with a conrod or crankshaft, resulted in a hole the size of a golf ball being punched in the side of the engine. Now, the gem, emailed BMW to review their obligation, and not surprisingly, they have informed me that they will not be accountable for anything. All i had asked them was to review my loss since insurance will not replace full value, and assess making up this loss to me. I have subsequently heard of a number of such failures on BMW 1000RR's and am highly dissapointed in the reaction from BMW. Note, BMW is not all it is cut out to be so please, people considering a BMW s1000RR, think twice unless you want to end up in hospital due to mechanical failure.
Not what i expected when i bought a BMW. So, BMW bike owners, beware of the 1000RR, you will be better of with a better brand of bike - like a Kawasaki ZX10.
