Tripronic gearboxes break dont buy a 2nd hand VW

I know that VW SA will not respond but the world must know how bad their service and products are!

I have a Caravelle T5 with a triptronic gearbox. The gearbox had to be reconditioned after 180 000 km! After doing this the guys at the repair centre gave me the warranty which stated the gearbox should be serviced every 60 000 km to avoid these costly repairs, R37 000 to be exact! When mine was repaired there were 8 of these Caravelles at Erlemanns for gearbox repairs needless to say of all the other VWs with the same gearbox. I phoned VWSA who was not interested in my concern about their service protocols.

My advice to everyone is not to buy a secondhand VW with a Triptronic Gearbox ecause you will have problems with this gearbox which is very costly repair. VWSA don't specify any maintenance of the gearbox which is bad. But this piece of German Engineering is a load of "$@&t" as a German company a would be very ashamed and not even to talk about their bad hellopeter record!

The only way they will cleanup their act is we rather buy Korean cars which is far more supeior enigeering now than the German. Both Korean car dealers and head office gives better service than VW!
