Nice new broken ca

Cars & Transport

I purchased a new 1.4T Opel Astra from GM. After about 2000km I noticed that there is an oil leak underneath the car. I immediately took the car back and they let me sit in their lobby for about two hours, with no courteous suggestion for water or coffee and no update as to what is going on. After the nice wait the workshop manager, Jacques Cornelson told me there is nothing wrong with the car and that the engine is just "sweating" but I should drive it and come back if the problem persists. After two weeks we still noticed an oil leak and took the car back. GM identified the problem as being a broken/ruptured tappet cover gasket, they told me I have to wait for the part to arrive. Jacques then gave me my options: I can either, a) drive with a company demo car (not a courtesy car) until they fix my car, or, b) I can drive with the leaking car until the part arrives!! I opted for option a, as oil leaks in my garage are not an easy clean. Today Beryl Van Der Merwe advised me that they don't know whats wrong and suggested that I fight with their head office to give me a new car, or I must relax until they find the problem, but they have no idea how long it will take. Not their problem
