Kia Pinetown
Extremely Poor Service by KIA Pinetown Workshop

Cars & Transport

I bought a new 2012 KIA Rio sedan from Kia Pinetown in 2012. After it was involve in a minor accident in January 2013, it was taken to a KIA approved panel beater, which then sent it to KIA Pinetown Workshop for diagnosis assessment on the engine (costs R2 200) before bodyworks begin. The workshop reported that the engine was OK.
The panel beater then continued with body work, thereafter told me the car need to be taken back to the dealer. I took the car back to KIA Pinetown workshop to do further diagnosis. The workshop informed me that they need to fix the engine cooling system and ignitions coils, which they did fix.
On the 26 April the workshop told me the car is ready for collection upon payment of invoice (R6000). I paid the amount and collected my vehicle.
After driving for about 140KM on the very same day the engine went off without any indication of over-heating on the temperature guage. I took it back to KIA Pinetown workshop.
After five days I sent a follow-up email to the workshop on my case progress, they responded with a qoutation of R90 000 for engine replacement & labour. No detailed report provided to me for what went wrong, upto today despite being requested
