Karoo Cattle and Land – Grey Owl (Centurion)
Waiters' attitude stinks!

I went to Karoo Cattle and Land - Grey Owl for my birthday last night (9/4/13). I cannot say we got excellent service, but it is nothing to complain or rave about. However, after paying, my friend gave the guy a tip of R10. The waiter went to his collegues and told them that we gave him R10 and what is he going to do with it. The 3 of them, 2 guys and a lady were going on about how R10 does not buy anything and how he well he did by not taking it. I remember getting the same thing, from the same guy last year. I came was with friends, we gave him 10% of the bill and because it was coind, he refused to take it. It was the same guy, and we sat at the same place as yesterday. If Karoo cattle and land grey owl waiters think our tips are beneath them, maybe they should tell before serving that they will not accept certain tips or management put up in writing what they would like to see as gratitude to their staff. And for the record, in SA there is not "standard" amount for gratitude, some restuarant mention but for yours and others, until such time that you mention, please do not treat customers with such disrespect.
