MISCOMMUNICATION OR JUST PLAIN FALSE ADVERTISING

I got an email on 23/05/2013 about the burger special on a Monday 2 X 250gr burgers plus chips & onion rings R45. I checked the website [URL Removed] which was also advertising the burger special. Only Sea Point's ph no. was displayed so I went to Wynberg Sauls at 5pm last night and 2 staff members (the barman and another one) confirmed they have the Special. I fetched my husband and 2 kids. First when we told the waiter that we want the Burger Special, he said he they don't have that special anymore. I told him 2 other staff already confirmed the special. He then went to check and came back and confirmed and we ordered 2 X the specials. The waiter asked about chips and I showed him the special advertisement on the website includes chips and onion rings. When the burgers came (only burgers - no sides) I asked him where's the chips & onion rings at which point he told us FOR THE FIRST TIME that his manager said that their Monday Special is without extras. I had the waiter call the manager and I showed her the website special being advertised but she was adament - only burgers WITH NO CHIPS. Needles to say we paid for the drinks and walked out. I will not go to any Sauls again.
