Good day. I have cancelled my car insurance polcy with Anderson Insurance Underwriters. To ascertain this as I've heard complaints in the past, I telephoned them again to make certain that it was cancelled as at 28th February 2013. I also received an email indicating that it would be cancelled. However, a debit order for R869.04 has just gone off my account, which wasnt even my insurance amount in the first place. As this debit order was unexpected, I had insufficient funds in my account, and will receive a R90 penalty. The reason I changed insurance is because my insurance amount was changed last month from R877 to R1019 without any notification. Even though I was told that I was sent a letter in the mail, I have yet to receive this as of today. No phone call, no email, no sms. Except this letter that still hasnt arrived. Which I'm certain is illegal. And I had to pay the R90 penalty because of insufficient funds. I was told that I'd be given a reduced amount, however I said I will be calling to cancel my policy. I refuse to keep paying penalties because of Anderson's incompetence. I expect this situation to be rectified immediately, with my R90 penalty being paid out to me.
