Why does my Homeloan application take so looooong?

I applied for a homeloan in September last year, now almost 4 months later, I struggle to get answers. I work through a local consultant, named Bennita Olivier at the local Oudtshoorn branch, who I know personally, and it seems that she even struggle just to get answers for me, and one thing is for certain, and that is that she is very good in her job, but if I call the service or call centre and try to get answers, it feels like you talk to stone, they always have a long story, but no clue according to me. I am a long coming customer of std bank, with a very good record, and bussiness acc record, but I am on my way out to join an other bank, thats for sure. Why cant std bank just come back to me and say just something like, sorry we dont work in December or so? Or just tell me sorry, we dont want to give you the loan, I am sorry to say, but I think your service went from good 5 years ago to bad now. My ref no: 4291200
