Fnb Credit Card-Total Rip-off

I was contacted by Brooks & Luyt regarding my outstanding Fnb credit card account, last payment I made was back in 2007 when I lost my job, at the time I called and explained this to Fnb and never heard anything from them until I was called by a Kabelo at Brooks & Luyt now in November, he told me they are handling the account and I must make an arrangement to pay them around R23 000, I then contacted Fnb and asked for a statement and it clearly showed my last balance was around R8000.

Now my question is how much interest do these guys charge for them to get to R23000 in a short space of time (assuming they got my file in November when they contacted me), it's not like they calculated the interest from 2008 cause the account was probably on hold (if not written off by Fnb) between 2008 and 2012.

However I asked Kabelo to send me a detailed statement showing how they got to R23000 and all I got from them was 1 page with 3 lines showing Capital amount of around R14000, Interest and Total of R23000. I sthen made an offer to pay R9000 (balance as per Fnb records and a bit extra for their trouble) but their guy-called Lebogang (with a stinking attitude) called me and declined it???
