I've been a loyal customer with Standard bank for over 13 years and never had any problems, until now. In last week I went into the bank to apply for a personal loan to have a swimming pool installed on my property. I saw a consultant and provided all the relevant documents, the consultant did a check on the computer and saw that I qualified for the requested amount. Copies of my salary slips were then forwarded to their credit department as I'm getting two salaries by two different companies on a weekly basis and this seemed to cause confusion. I finally got feedback today (17-12-2013) that I got turned down because they couldn't confirm employment for both Registered agencies. I went into the bank to get the full story only to be passed around. When I asked the branch manager why I was declined, she just said that the "registered" agencies wasn't on their database. I confirmed with human resources that these well known agencies are indeed registered. Upon requesting more (valid) details and the credit department number so that I could contact them, the Branch Manager then just told me that she Wasn't going to give the number with more Attitude than a teenager.
