In the middle of Oct 2013 I took a rental from AVIS as part of an insurance claim with Alex/Forbes. The vehicle was not inspected when I collected it and I had to go back inside and report a huge scratch across the back of a car with 1500K's on the clock before I removed the car from their premises (according to ALL of them they do not inspect the vehicle on giving it to their client). Their card machine was not working so we paid R750 cash deposit. We returned the car on the 28th Nov and now are struggling to get the money back into our account. I complained to Alexander Forbes and help has not been forth coming. They selected AVIS and should be investigating the matter. They will continue to use AVIS as they simply leave the problem in their clients hands. I will now have to spend my xmas hols fighting to get my money out of AVIS. AVIS and Alexander Forbes have not played fair here. AVIS who was contacted by A/Forbes has not even called me to see if I was refunded. Europcar has always phoned to ensure that my deposit was refunded and never cheated me on a full tank. I have check ALL my bank accounts and no debit or credit reflect for the R750 for OCT/NOV/DEC 2013.
