My Daughter applied online for a personal loan in October. After reviewing the Interest rate and period she decided not to take this offer up. She signed no agreement with FNB or confirmed telephonically to agreement.
On 21 October however FNB Personal loan division paid the amount into her account. On 24 October she was assisted with FNB staff at the Lifestyle Branch to repay the amount. She has the Reference numbers supplied by the Call Centre who confirmed that the loan account will be closed. On 29 November an installment for the personal loan was dr against her account. Again FNB Lifestyle Branch assisted in contacting the Call Centre who confirmed that the matter will be resolved. On 4 December another Installment was dr against her account. Again the same procedure as on 29 November at Lifestyle and promises that amounts will be paid in 5 to 10 Working Days. On 5 December I go with her as I cannot act without her consent on her account to Lifestyle Branch. Again we explain that the unreasonableness of FNB actions contrary to The Banking Code of Conduct to which they subscribe to in repaying the amounts deducted. Five to 10 working days is not acceptable for an FNB Error.
