Cash Counting ATM - Beware

On 26/11, I deposited R5000 in cash into a my Credit Card account at the Standard Bank Bedford Gardens Branch as I had done in the past. The deposit consisted of 50 x R100 Notes. The notes were pre-counted and correctly orientated with no torn / damaged or folded notes. The machine accepted the bundle of notes and began the initial count, whilst doing so the ATM indicated that there were folded notes and gave the instruction to remove the cash from the machine. The ATM returned the notes and on inspection, an amount of R1100.00 was missing. I went into the branch and had to wait almost 30 minutes to see a consultant who opened a 'service request' (#7000451212) after recording my complaint. The following day (27/11) I received an SMS to say that further information was required - Time of transaction, machine number, amount missing, although I had given all this information already - I called the 0860123000 number provided, and this is a serious joke for someone wishing to speak to a human operator. I went back to the branch and this time had to wait 45 minute to be assisted, gave the information a second time. Really poor service from S'Bank, poor resolution of disputes.
