Ms van Wyk did not read the complaint properly. Her reply commented on all the points I didn't query and none of the points I did. Miway DID NOT DISCLOSE THAT THE RETAIL VALUE WAS LESS THAN THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE BIKE, had Miway done so WE WOULD NOT HAVE INSURED THE BIKE WITH MIWAY. Ms van Wyk stated that it is up to the client to get this information. I DISAGREE, Morally / Ethically that should be part of Miways' service. I would guess that 99.9% of potential clients probably don't know or ask what the retail value is. We were not paid out the amount stated in writing, when it was queried we were told by Mr O'Neale "he is done with our claim, contact the dispute department, "so gracious". We were told there are additional excesses but once again none of the details were disclosed to us. ONCE AGAIN I feel that had this information been given to us WE WOULD NOT HAVE INSURED WITH MIWAY. I THINK MIWAY NEED TO STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. As a customer I expect to be given ALL relevant information to assist me in my decision. If Miways' employee had given me all of the above information I WOULD NOT HAVE INSURED THE BIKE WITH THEM.
