Wanted to make early settlement of a personal loan with Capitec. Made 2 calls to 2 different call centres for a settlement letter. Was told the settlment letter would be emailed to me. After not receving the letter, I emailed client care only to be advised that settlment letter only obtainable from a branch. Was told that I could spk to the branch manager to negotiate the settlement amt. At the branch was told I had to first open a savings acc. with Fica docs before settling the loan. Had to return to the branch a second time with docs, opened the savings acc., otained settlement letter. Was told at branch that I could not spk to the branch manager about negotiating the amt, I should call centralised collections. Left the branch & called centra. collec, but was told to go bk to the branch to negotiate with branch manager. Lodged written complaint with client care on 21 Oct for being given the run-around, to date no response. Due to frustration & being inconvenienced I scraped up a little more money to settle the ridiculously high settlement amount. Extremely poor information provision from Capitec, inconvenient for having to go to a branch for everything & not negotiable on settlements!
