I submitted a home loan application on 23/08/2013 to increase my Flexi Reserve bond with R60K which would bring my total outstanding debt to R170K - still no approval received. I required the funds for an urgent motor vehicle purchase and had to obtain alternative finance at a higher interest rate. It is unacceptable to wait for more than 5 weeks for such a simple finance application. I also was contacted at the end of August to have a new credit card delivered to my workplace. No subsequent communication has been received and I also conveyed my concerns to the branch manager about mid-September that I wouldn't receive my credit card before the current one expires on 31/09/2013, looking at the level of service of my bond application. ABSA has taken more than 5 weeks not to render any service in both instances which is unacceptable and is putting me in a great disposition. I would like this to be addressed by management higher than branch level or their Actionline as I have lodged complaints to both the branch and their complaints department without any success.
