My car broke down for the umpteenth time, and I got hold of Std Bank VAF on their call centre number. I spoke to Christopher, and did an application for pre-approval over the phone. He was friendly, he listened and he was able to explain the various options to me. When I heard my car could not be fixed, I got back to Christopher, and together with his Manager, Robin Malembe, they were able to achieve me driving away with my new car within an impressive 2 days! Not only did Robin and Christopher stick to what was obviously a check-list (very well trained!), Robin also kept me informed every step of the way, even phoning me in the evening to confirm the appointment for signing the contract (at the dealer).
Well done - It is very easy to get annoyed with Banks (and you can and have been annoying), but this was definitely the smoothest experience I have ever had! And that is all customers really want - not to even notice the process, because everything just works!
