FNB Bank take 36% - R20 on cash deposit of R55

May was my sons birthday and his grandma in Ranfontein JHB went to the bank to deposit some birthday money for him. She only knew my wife's bank account and out of good hart deposit R55 into her account for my son. She phoned him with the good news and he was super glad. I had some cash in my wallet and gave it to him. After some weeks we received her bank statement via e-mail and was shocked what we saw. Cash deposit of R55 rand and Bank Charge R20 cash deposit fee. WoW
Today I went to FNB Hermanus, spoke this lady, floor manager and asked if they think this is correct. The conversation went like this: She "if i pull a statement there will be charges" HALLO, don't print it look on your screen. Eventually she pulled some report and say it was paid in at a teller. Ok. I asked what the percentage of the cash deposit fee? and she replied, "It varies from account to account" but she will go speak to the branch manager and away she went. 20seconds later, as she approached me she start to tear the report in her hand and say, " The manager says, sorry but that is the way it is! NOT GOOD ENOUGH! FNB- How can we cheat you? Cheers FNB 9 accounts including 2 x PLATINUM Accounts! Over R20 LoL
