I applied for vehicle finance at Standard Bank. The consultant ensured me that financing a vehicle 8 years old on a 54month term is not a problem. When the pre agreement reached me, not only my name and surname were being spelled incorrectly, the interest rate also differs drastically from what was confirmed it would be by the consultant. I sent an e-mail requesting the correction of my name, surname and interest rate to what was agreed to and questioning the sudden change. Another consultant ensured me that it would be rectified but since then my term was adjusted from the first 54 months then to 60, 36 and to 48 months. Update or correction requests were never done. The dealer thinks it is a joke. To me this is unacceptable and pathetic service. Being with SB for almost 37 years, a Prestige account holder and financed 3 vehicles with them in the past, I have now just lost all my trust in them. I'm busy applying at Wesbank and I am sure they will gladly finance my vehicle.
