Don't get fooled by Dubai stopover package

I booked a one night stopover in Dubai on my way back from Vietnam to South Africa. I chose the Ascot hotel.

I paid R2141 for the room for one night for two people. After my booking I started looking for more info on the hotel. It seems I paid much more for the room than I should have. i found the same room was R1193 on [URL Removed] and R1415 on the hotels website.

when i contacted their office they said that this was their rate as per emirates stopover pricing.

it might seem like a very attractive option to have a one night stopover in dubai. but you are better off paying for your own hotel, visa and transfer than booking it through emirates.

website is deceiving!
