Booking that expired

I made a booking with SAA to Zambia and they gave me a ref number to pay at a pick and pay they never informed me that I only have a certain time to pay the amount due when I went to pay this morning they told me the ref expired now I had to make a new booking that's costing me R3000 more cause of info they never supplied. I'm very unhappy with the service!
