Charge for a damage report

Nashua Mobile charges their clients with contracts R200 for a damage report letter. my contract expires in November 2013 and i am counting the days.
Then I called to inquire about early cancellation and was told i have to pay in R8000. how did Nashua mobile get to that figure. my contract is R500 a month, which means in the next 3 months it is finished, so if i let it run, it is R1500. where the heck do they get R8000. from?
