I am very dissapointed in Edgars. I have had an account with Edgars, which i opened before i got married 24 years ago!! 2 weeks ago i received an sms to tell me to contact head office regarding my personal details on the system. I duly called in and i was asked to go into a branch and take my ID number so it can be updated on the system. (Edgar did not have my ID number??? after all these years???) On saturday i went into The Glen branch and went straight to client service, i told them why i was in, they in turn phoned head office. The assistant on the line from Head office told me to go to home affairs and get a letter stating why my name had changed... Hello!!! who has time to go to HOME AFFAIRS for Edgars. The account was openend 24 years ago in my maiden name not onnce did anyone ask me why there was a name change... all they said my name of my ID did not match my name on the account!!! i therefore asked for my account to be closed. If this is the service you get after having an account for 24 years then I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH SUCH A COMPANY. WHERE IS LOYALTY???
