No stock on Seagate 3TB

Today I went to the Alberton City store to buy the 3TB Seagate hardrive advertised for 1299. As per usual there was no stock on an item on a sale meant to end on Sunday.

The guy I spoke to the said I must come to the front of the store and he'd give me a reincheck so I could get it at the same price when in stock. He only gave me a leaflet where I could SMS to be notified of new stock. I then asked him if I'd have to pay normal price and he promised I wouldn't.

I just called and spoke to someone there and said that basically there is no stock because customers have been buying them. Wow, seriously, I never would have guessed that's the reason. He suggested I go to another store.

Why should I have to drive all over the place? Why does the store not make allowances and make sure there is stock? Especially considering that there will most likely be demand over the weekend?

So I want to know what you are going to do to make sure that your salesman's promise of the same price will be honoured and make a plan to get a drive to this store?
For the record, this is not the first time this has happened. Is it your practice to understock in the hopes of making money?
