Rude Staff Member at Express Checkout

I purchased today 2 x 5l and 5 x 750ml still waters at Checkers. I then proceeded to pay at the express checkout which said 10 items or less. The water was in a trolley due to the size and weight of the bottles. Before entering the cashier at the end started screaming no trolleys here. I responded its only 7 items. She screamed back I SAID NO TROLLEYS HERE. No where was it marked baskets only all it said was 10 items or less. Further than that why do the staff have to be rude - are they trying to lose customers? Please tell me how I must carry 5l water bottles in a basket... To top it all off after paying at another till I saw a lady of the cashiers race proceeding to the express checkout with no one screaming at her. This incident has really left a bad taste with me and makes me question shopping there again.
