Wrong advise on Polar, charged to client

I took my Polar RS800CX watch to Sportsmans in tygervalley to have them check the heartrate sensor and belt. Their "trained" staff suggested that something was wrong with the watch, and had to be sent in to Polar. Polar then informed me that nothing was wrong with the watch, but the sensor I needed is supposed to be WIND compatible. So in the end I was charged R150 for courier fee's, and a R100 for a "service check" from polar. When I presented the logic, that I only sent the watch to Polar on their professional advice as a registered support partner to Polar, and I that it seems rather a waste of time, plus money having seeked out their help, and support in the first place, I was given that "not my problem" attitude, not only from the staff, but noticed irritated attitude from the manager as well. Who ended up saying "just write it off" in an exasperated tone.
Although they ended up carrying the cost of their misdirecting advice, I now sit with the scenario, if I ever need to have the watch sent to polar, I have to deal with people which may very likely have a gripe against me.
Considering their size, I would've expected a better experience from this well known retail store.
