Humiliated over a packet of sweets at PEP

I was in PEP yesterday and as I was leaving the store they searched my bag and found a packet of sweets (which I bought in another shop that morning). The lady at the door, asked me for the slip to prove that I bought them somewhere else. I told her I didn't have the slip & she asked how she knows I didn't take them in that shop?

I suggested that she scans the sweets and maybe the barcode would reflect that the sweets were not from that store. They scanned the sweets and they appeared in their system, which shocked me because I bought my sweets somewhere else and she yelled at me that I should produce the proof that the sweets are not from PEP. She threatened to call the police, and I encouraged her to call them because I thought maybe they might be of help.

She detained me in Pep (by the door not in a private back room) & I asked her to call the police quickly because she was inconveniencing me for sweets I didn't. She kept me in PEP until the very last customer had paid when the shop was closed. Then she released me saying that I must apologise! I have found the slip which proves that I bought the sweets somewhere else, and I still have the sweets.
